When I first created this recipe, I was actually trying to make a cookie skillet. It ended up turning out to be a perfect bread recipe instead!! So I decided to keep the recipe as is and call it Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread Skillet. I also wanted a version of this recipe that was more of a cookie so I made this Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet too!
This Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread Skillet is a perfect fall treat! I definitely am going to be making a batch of this on Thanksgiving! It’s perfectly moist, a little fluffy, rich with plenty of chocolate and pumpkin-y.
What should I eat pumpkin bread with?
If you want to keep it simple, you can serve a warm slice with a glass of almond milk. That is one of my favorite ways to eat it. If you wanna get a little cray, you can top it with bananas, nut butter and granola. Or, you could put some icing on top!
What flour should I use for pumpkin bread?
I prefer coconut flour and almond flour for baking because they add extra subtle flavors that are so yummy. I used coconut flour in this recipe because I think a little hint of coconut pairs perfectly with the pumpkin and chocolate. Coconut flour is a lot more absorbent than other flours which is why this recipe only calls for just over 1/4 cup.

The best recipe for Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread! It’s super tasty, soft, moist and sprinkled with plenty of chocolate to make your heart melt.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Whisk eggs in a bowl then add remaining ingredients (only use half of the chocolate chips). Mix well.
- Spread cookie dough out in a large skillet and top with remaining chocolate chips.
- Bake for about 15-17 minutes. Be careful; if you over-bake, it will get cakey and be more like pumpkin bread.
- I used a 12 inch skillet which is pretty large. If you use a smaller skillet, I’d recommend using only 2/3 of each of the ingredients the recipe calls for so it bakes evenly. You may also need to adjust the baking time.
